Hello I am a bit confused on home folder path option available in AD.

I have set a user with \\server\storage\%username% in the profile tab connected to the Z drive.

Then I also see the same option in Terminal Services tab.

Basically I want the Z drive to show up when the log on to Terminal Services...but it is not. Do I need to configure both tabs? Ideally i would want my docs to point to the Z drive no matter logon local or via citrix.

If you want the same config for both, you only need to set the z: mapping on the Profile tab and leave the Term Serv tab blank. If you want Term Serv to behave uniquely, that is when you would put values there. You have a different issue...the settings on the Profile tab are not taking affect.

Check this out...it applies to Server 2003 as well:

Your best bet might be login scripts, that is what I use. They are explain at the bottom of the webpage in the link above.

This script works well... ...but I don't get the point? You would still need to access each individual folder's NTFS settings and configure it. So it created 500 folders for each account, but now I have to set permissions for each individual folder??
