Greetings,
This should be a no-brainer but I haven't gotten it yet. I want my Win2K users to automatically have a drive letter mapped to their "home" directory on a Win2K or NT4.0 Server. I DON'T want to use roaming profiles. That's gets messy, since there is no consistancy to the workstations. Lets say there is a folder in the root of D: called Users, and within that folder are shared individual users folders. I have tried using the login script with a line like Net Use g: \\fs_server1\%username% but it didn't work. The %username% part disappeared on it's own from the script! Besides, the Win98 workstations choked on it. I tried going to the profiles section of the User Manager and under the Home section I attempted to map a drive letter to a UNC path. That didn't work either. I really don't think it should be necessary to create individual login scripts for each user just to map a discrete home directory.
Thanks,
Brian
