The home directory is defined as /abc/appid I want to overided the NIS defined home directory by using a /etc/passwd entry and also use automounter to mount this directory as /home/appid ?

The reason I posted was even though I had the correct entries in /etc/passwd and /etc/auto_home it wasn't working. The problem turned out to be some processes which were hung accessing /home/appid, once I killed these processes it worked ok. Upvote 0 Downvote
