Hold Timeout activates speakerphone

We have found that when a held call reaches the timeout value (90 seconds by default) that the call returns by immediatley activating the speakerphone - not returing to the extension with a ring but by just putting the caller live on speaker (very dangerous!). Also, if the person holding the call is on a different call on the same extension, the returning call from hold rings for the ring interval (currently set at 10 seconds) and then goes to the next agent in queue. All of the same hold true for Parked Calls. Has anyone experienced this type of issue. I don't understand how Avaya designs these things to perform such ridiculous tasks. ... Thanks!

What software versions & phone types are you using?
On my test system the phone rings with a tripple ring bust.

We are on Version 2.1 and are using 4620 sets - it *should* ring back with a triple ring or something but certainly not activate the speakerphone automatically. I am not sure if this was the case with a previous version or not as we just noticed it happening.

FIxed it. REmove the DCP shortcode. I also removed the RINGER shortcode at the same time, so I'm not sure which one did it, but that did solve the problem. I was also getting auto answer after the first ring. Once I removed those codes, the problem was gone.

Hope this helps...

Kris

It will be the *RINGER short code that caused the problem, the settings are undocumented (1 vaules seperated by commas) but I have managed to reverse egineerthem for the 20XX terminals & expect they are similar.
