Hold Recall Timer Issue on MICS 6.1

I have a Mics 6.1 that has issues with hold recall timer. Held reminder is set to yes and recall 30 sec. The feature was working until a few days ago. If a call is placed on hold it stays indefinitely. I'm thinking that I need to replace software or just reset switch. If I have to replace software and perform a backup can I install 7.1 and restore with no issues or have to use 6.1??? Your thoughts please..

So I can just swap out cards with no issues. I'll perform a backup just in case and maybe just try to get 6.1 software. However, do you have any ideas about the hold recall timer issue????

Also will I lose keycodes for PRI if I upgrade the software to 7.1?? I checked remotely and the software is 7.0..

Keycodes would not be lost going from R6.1 or R7.0 to R7.1, but if you decide you want to go back to the old software version the system programming could default and wipe out the keycodes. A backup is always a good idea. I doubt that this will have any effect on the hold recall timer problem.

I think you were on the right track with a reboot.
As for backup you don't want to backup a glitch (if it does).
Otherwise a REINSTALL usually fixes glitches.

If money not a deal, upgrade to 7.1, if still issue then do the REINSTALL.....at least they will be up to date and be support be it you or Avaya.

Hey thanks for all the input. I remotely reset the hold recall timer by turning off and allowing update then reprogrammed to on. All is g2g!!!!!
