Hi,

This is an MS Office, Excel issue, and not an MS Access issue: Forum68.

Check out faq68-1331 and post back in Forum68, is you have questions applying to your Excel application.

Hi,

I'm not sure how you link the data from Access to Excel.
What I normally do is to copy the data over to one spreadsheet from within Access by code and create the graph in another spreadsheet.

When creating the graph extend the x-axis way beyond what you are going to need. If it is done correctly it will automatically adjust to the correct data, without leaving a a space for the blank cells.

I'm not sure how you link the data from Access to Excel.

Use Data > Import External Data > New database query...
drill to your access db, format a query and File > Return data to Microsoft Excel

Once you have this query table added to a sheet, all you need do is Data > Refresh to get new data from MS Access.

Hi SkipVought,

I normally do not link data from Access to Excel as I find it easier to use the .Range("cell#").CopyFromRecordset rs1 function and transfer the data to Excel.

What I tried to say was that I do not know how he deals with the data, eg is he trying to create a graph in Excel with a link to Access without having the data in Excel or does he transfer the data to an Excel spread sheet. If it has been the former I have never done it.

Transfering the data to Excel he can follow my advice that follow the sentence.

Thanks for that advice.

Hennie

The latter.

Hi SkipVought,

yes i link data in excel using database query.

but when the data gets changed of extend then the graph should display the graph as per the data.
