My Toshiba Laptop[pantiam 1, 32 RAM, Win 98] don't have any CD rom drive, SO I want to transfer data via network from my desktop. My desktop is P4 and Win XP. Is it possible to connect my Laptop with the Desktop only with a USB cable?

Does USB flash drives work with win 98?

You can network two machines via USB but you need special hardware. There's a mini tutorial on this site:

Note - do NOT just use a USB cable with a flat, wide connector at each end. You can cause major electrical damage to both machines if you do this.

USB flash drives work with Win98. You'll need to install a driver though.
