On a widnows machine, we can build hostID from MAC address/Physical address from ipconfig /all.
How to get host on a windows machine with multiple NICs?
Any help?

ipconfig /all should show you the MAC addresses for multiple NICs. You could also use the getmac command.

netstat -a - will tell you Protocal used, Local Adress (which consists of HOST name : Port Number), Remote adress, and the status...

My problem here is which MAC address to use as the hostID?
In ipconfig all, it shows two entries (if I have two NICs) with Physical addresses, which one to choose as hostID?
for unix this problem will not arise as the host ID is unique.

Thanks,

Could you explain what you're trying to do? Perhaps that would make it easier to assist you.

And explain your set up, are you actually USING both cards? are they teamed or seperate? Plugged into the same LAN or not? Is this a server or workstation?

The host name will be the same for both NICs, probably most incoming traffic will just go through whichever resolves first I guess.

Mostly we need to know what you are trying to achieve.
