Ho Desking

Is it possible to set up hot desking on the Avaya IP 406 so that when you move around desks you can keep your own extension number? This will need to be controlled by Phone Manager.

I can get ity so that it works if you login via the handset but phone manager doesn't follow suit. I can also get it so that you can login via phone manager but you get the extension tied to the phone, which once again is no good. I had the idea of removing the extension number from each pot but as soon as you merge config it automatically reassigns them? Has anyone got any other ideas.

Don,t use login/logout with the phonemanager.
Make a shortcode so you can login an make sure everyone is a hotdeskuser.
First login on the station you want and then start your Phonemanager.

So hotdesking is controlled with the shortcode and not true phonemanager.

Cheers for the response. Sounds good but i will need to load phone manager to log in as the different user and when you load it if your not logged in it will prompt you. also will i then be able to use the park bays etc

Don,t start phonemanager.
First login the station where you are going to sit.
If you are using a laptop and then starting phonemanager it works.
If you are using desktops then you must select the user every time a new user login the phone and in phonemanager
