HMS to PMS link

Connecting a HMS400 to a DIGI EL160 and having no luck. I have a DB9f to DB25M cable going to a DB25F to RJ45 adapter going over to a DIGI EL 160.

Pin outs are as follows per DIGI docs...

DCE to Terminals/Printers)
RJ-45 Jack Signal DB-25 Male

5 TxD 3
6 GND 7
7 DTR 8
8 CTS 4

Now this port currently works connected to a Meridian Mail. This is a link to the PMS galaxy pms system. Cat 5 is straight thru.

Your post is confusing:

Are you moving to another system? What are you wanting to connect to?

Are you also using cat 5 on Meridian Mail?


Would also need to know Pin out all the way.

Do you connect the RL45 directly to the PMS?
What is the Pinout at the PMS side and the Switch side?
Is the DB9 to DB25 and standard Mail to Female?

The DIGI EL 160 is a serial port concentrator. It only has RJ45 connections. It is currently connected to a Meridian Mail but when switching it over to the HMS 400 it does not work with or without a modem eliminator. This is the link to the Galaxy PMS system.

We are using CAT5 cable to extend from the computer room to the phone room.

I found and fixed the problem with the link. In the computer room hidden behind the cables was 2 DB25 to RJ45 adapters and when I took them out of the link everything worked fine.

By the way the pinout is correct.
