To secure conenction to HMC read the HMC guide.
BTW. I am using AIX's "wsm" to get access to HMC. Just run a "wsm" on any AIX in your network (requires DISPLAY) and then add you HMC IP address to the "wsm" configuration. Your HMC will appear on the hosts list in "wsm" and you will be able to get access to your HMC resources/configuration .
