HMC - P650 Adapter problem

Hi,

I have a P650 with to lpars running AIX 5.2. I remove physically one of the hot swap ethenet adapters from the P650 (this adapter was unassigned), but the HMC still shows the adapter. I had rebuild the p650 on the HMC, but the adapter is still there. Somebody have an idea how can I removed this ethernet adapter.

Hi,

We found a way to fix the problem. I think this is not the right way, but worked for us. We created a dummy lpar a assigned the adapter to this lpar, then we activate the dummy lpar and the adapter was removed. Later we removed the dummy lpar.

if the right way will not work, try updating HMC software or perhaps p650 firmware. i know i managed this once (forget how but it seemed easy) but i had fw later than October 2003 and latest HMC code.
