I have a SSRS report which is comprised of 2000 rows. The primary column is the student ID, of which there are approximately 105 unique ones. Each student ID is repeated consecutively on anywhere from 15 to 25 rows (one after the other).

When displaying this report, I would like to insert a blank row after each group of student IDs (the blank row will need to be inserted after a row when the next student ID is different from the current one).

Can someone please tell me how I can accomplish this? I don't know much about grouping.

Thanks in advance.

In your report, near the bottom third of your screen, you should see a section called "Row Groups." In that section, there should be a bar for your "Details" group. Right-Click it, and choose "Add Group-->Parent Group." In the window that comes up, choose Student ID as the element to group on. Also, tick the "Add Group Header" checkbox. You'll get a new grouping based on student id. Just be sure to leave the footer row blank.
