Hit counter in a non ASP page

How can i have a hit counter in a page that is not ASP?
Details: a have a HTML home page and i want to have a hit counter on it and also in the rest of the pages in my site which (pages) are or not ASP. I do not want to change all the pages in ASP, it is too much work because it is an quite large site. Does anyone have any ideea? %-(

check out and search for hit counter. I'm sure they have a javascript solution for free that you can use.

I'm not entirely sure you can have a proper hit counter on the client side. I think you'll need to use some server-side stuff like ASP, CGI, PHP, or a java servlet.

Maybe your best bet would be some cgi program that will sit in on your server and you can reference them in each of your HTML pages easily enough. You'll be able to get some perl script to do this for free, try
