I have an interesting problem with wildcards and old versions of FRx

In the past a wild card of X in the row format would do something different than ? or &. but over time they phased out the use of X without converting it to ? or & (or anything else). I am thinking that X meant that there had to be SOMETHING in that part of the account number (ex 123456-0-00-XXX would pull any accounts starting with 123456-0-00 that had something in the last 3 digits, but it had to have something in the last three digits --- I THINK).

When we converted from Dynamics 5.5 to 6.0 we had to keep FRx 5.5 and just point it at the Dynamics 6.0 data (a non supported situation) because the X wildcard was EVERYWHERE in the FRx database. So now I am moving to 7.5 and I am sure that this is the time to bite the bullet and convert.

If anyone can tell me 100% what an X really was, I can take it from there (probably pulling the FRx db into Access and make the change - I know, not supported, but more practical than converting hundreds of rows through their panels).

Thanks in advance - Jim
