History showed success backing up but no back up was done.

Has any of you ran into such problem on back up using the schedule Maintenance Plan.History showed success backing up but no back up was done to my E:\. It has been backing up for 2 years and suddenly I don't see any back up on my E:\ but the view history show succefully backup for last night. Any ideas? Thanks.

Maybe it's as simple as the file been deleted by something/somebody else. Is the folder hidden?

And you are absolutely sure that history does show for the last time the job ran ... or has the history stopped some days ago?

The job history will just show the result that was returned by the maint plan - it may do other things than just the backup and might return the result of the last thing it performed.

Safer to code the backup yourself to make sure it is the only thing in the step.

I think I accidentally remove the backup to destination while I was trying to do manual backup. I have replaced it the destination path and will see tomorrow it will go back to the normal routine.
