Hi Folks!

About history file.

How can I obtain the capability to record all userid activity on the platform? – i.e. log in/log out dates time together with all commands send to the operating system and responses provided as well as any changes made on the platform.

How can I keep this information to be available for a minimum period of at least 6 months. I understand this may require us to archive this information to alternative media on a regular basis and this is something I need to do?

Can I use the OTM?? how can I set it?

Thanks in advance.

Have a nice day

I write a Procomm script that captures AHST, then TTYLOG history, then performs/prints a TNB, and saves it to the PC. It does it every day. 8 gig of space will hold about 7 or 8 years of doing that every day on a fairly large switch.

Hi GHTROUT:

Can you share your script with me?
How do you programm it to run everyday and save it in the PC?

Friendly regards

And thanks in advance.

I would rather someone with more script writing capability show us theirs. My uses a couple of external files to do renames and saves. Mine is just too much complexity for posting - it's even - embarrassing :)

You can easily record your own script with Procomm to do the daily routines on your own pbx. I am sure the daily routines I run are different than the ones others run.

When I was on site I would start the script, go get coffee, then come back and review the capture at my leisure, saved it everyday on a shared drive and had documention that way.

There's no magic script to do this, just turn on the recorder in Procomm, do what you want it to do, then save it, that easy.
