Has anyone seen this issue:

Contact Center 6.0

Historical Configuration

Call-by-Call Database
Actual : 31711 MB
Required: 7805 MB

System Database
Acutal: 31818 MB
Required: 49971 MB<-- Required is larger than acutal

Let me know what you think.

Ideally it should be required should be less than the actual. You may have to reduce the duration for each type of reports.OR else your partition for database is small.

You need to either add database space or reduce required space as eventually the database will get corrupted as it fills up. It clearly documented in the NTP's. . . Once database gets corrupted you'll be in a pooch, start over from scratch. Or last known good backup before database corrupted then you'll just lose data since that time frame.

Go through the "Database Expansion".

I had the same issue. We did a Rel 5 => CC6 upgrade, and the installer recovered off backup. Sadly they did not do the expansion. The issue only became a concern to us when we wanted to change the historical values (as you seem to want to do).

If you go ahead, there is no selecting how far you want to expand, just that you DO want to expand. The CC6 will then in a very greedy fashion gobble up all available space.... given that you do have any.

Current database max size is 128G if memory is correct.

Well take a look at what I have dug up. In the parameter fields you need to reduce the number of active agent configured to your licensing limits and this wil fix it. Looks like there are a couple of new fields introduced in CC 6.0.

Hope this helps. I went back in some other CC 6.0 upgrades we did and sure enough they all had these options. Adjusted to the correct numbers and all database sizes (required) cut in half.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

For a migration of Symposium Call Center Server (SCCS) 5.0 to Contact Center Manager Server 6.0, the System Database field in CCMA>Configuration>Historical Statistics shows incorrect values (REQUIRED DATABASE greater than ACTUAL DATABASE).

For a new install of CCMS 6.0 the System Database field in CCMA>Configuration>Historical Statistics shows incorrect values (REQUIRED DATABASE much greater than value calculated by the Capacity Tool [CapTool]

CCMA 6.0 SUS0204 included updated to the calculation of the System Database and Call-by-Call Database required size in the Historical Statistics component of Configuration to reflect the CC 6.0 Engineering Guidelines, which have increased from CCMS 5.0. The impact to the required database size may be considerable and, as a result, a database expansion may be required. The formulas that calculate this database size were updated to be consistent with the CAP Tool. However, some of the updated CCMA formulas needed to be re-assessed, because in some cases the required space indicated by as much 15GB.

PROBLEM RESOLUTION

Patches are required on both CCMS 6.0 and CCMA 6.0 to resolve this issue
CCMS: CCMS_6.0_SU03_S and CCMS_6.0_SUS0301_S or later
CCMA: CCMA_6.0_SU03_S, CCMA_6.0_SUS0301_S, CCMA_6.0_SUS_0302_S, CCMA_6.0_PEP_030202 or later

There are 2 new parameters in the CCMA Configuration window, Historical Statistics, parameters section:
1. Active Agents: Average number of Active Agents
2. Configured Agent IDs: Number of Configured Agents

They are documented in the online help.

By default, these are set to the same value as Agent Positions. You must modify these parameters to match your call center configuration.

Currently, CCMA_6.0 allows you to save the configuration settings in the Historical Statistics component of Configuration where the required database size is greater than the actual database size for the system database. This functionality is TEMPORARY so that changes can be saved and a CCMS database expansion be planned, if it is required. It will be removed at a future date.

A warning message will be displayed stating:
"The system has calculated that the Required System Database size exceeds the Actual System Database size. Please contact your customer service representative to confirm the Required System Database size as your database may need to be expanded. Saving the Historical Statistics configuration will be restricted in a future software update if the Required System Database size is greater than the Actual Database size."

This message will only be displayed when the required DB size exceeds the actual DB size. The value calculated by CCMA for the required System DB size will be ignored and the changes will be saved.

Please note that the actual increase in required database size may be considerable and may require a CCMS Database expansion. It is highly recommended to use the CapTool to determine the required System Database size to judge whether a database expansion may be required.

To determine the accurate Required database size in order to decide whether a database expansion is required, please use the CapTool (located on the Norte>Technical Support portal: If the Required database size is greater than the Actual database size, it will be necessary to perform a database expansion or decrease the duration parameters so that the Required database size is less than the Actual Database size.

Also note that if warm standby (replication) configuration is in place, you must remove warm standby configuration, perform the database expansion, rebuild the standby server, and rebuild the warm standby configuration

Just a follow up....customer reduced his Historical Configurations for the following:

Active Agents
Configured Agent ID's
Nodes

To what they are licensed for and all was returned to normal.
