We currently have a APPC/CPI/C app that talks to our M/F over token ring/SNA (APP==>HIS==>token ring==>3274==>VTAM==>CICS).

We installed a new mainframe that doesn't have a 3274 - it's connected directly to our company LAN over TCP/IP. We need to connect our app to the new m/f. Can someone detail the pieces of the puzzle at the Windows server and the m/f that accomplish the connection? People have thrown out things like "IBM Enterprise Extender", but we're trying to see if we can do this without adding too much complexity.

Are you using Microsoft SNA Server now?

Microsoft is releasing HIS (Host Integration Server) 2004. This product will support something called IP/DLC which will allow you to communicate via IP to the Host.

Please reply if you need more information. This product is in Beta right now I think.
