This showed up ~three weeks ago. I thought maybe that the system was installed with only a two year license. However, the system was installed 3/26/12, and it shows the license expiring 5/16/14, which equals 781 days. (2 years = 730 days.)

One of the DSCXL2 boards was replaced about a month ago by another tech. Is it possible that installing the board reset the license to a 30 grace period? Has anyone ever dealt with this before?

Called Unify tech support, but they said they don't deal with this. I'm guessing I need to get a hold of someone in sales.

My big question is: What happens when the license reached the end? Does it just prevent MACs? or will I no longer be able to get into the system?

How long are the licenses usually good for?

Thanks for any help with this.

The licences on Version 6 are linked to the MAC addresses of the Processors.
When you changed the processor you put in a new MAC address that is not known to the licence server in the HiPath.
You will need to generate a new 'lic' file on the Unify licence generation web site.
You will also need to tell the HiPath of the new MAC address that has been installed.

Yep! That was it. Thanks sbcsu! I had a failover to the other processor and the notification went away.

I haven't heard about the Unify license generation web site. I couldn't find the page on the Unify CSP. Is it part of that site?
(Although, I'm still trying to even figure out their software setup.)

I've got someone in Irving that is assisting me with generating the license. Thanks again for the info sbcsu.

Glad you got it sorted.

Also just to clarify, the licence server at Unify is only for V6 and newer on the 4K
The older methods (Dongles and SIM Cards) are still on the 'Codeword Tool'
either via the SEBA/Unify website or directly on the web HERE
