I would like a specific phone to be allowed to transfer incoming calls to phone numbers within the local area code? How do I modify the phone in order to be able to do so? I have a single PRI coming into the HIPATH. Currently this phone has COS FWDEXT. Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions?
Nick

If you are talking about forwarding and not transferring there are 3 COS entries I believe you need. FWDEXT is one, FWDECA is another and FWDBAS should be the 3rd. I also believe if you need to forward incoming calls form outsid you also need TTT so that one trunk can transfer the call to another trunk to send it out.

Don do I need to create a new COS with these features checked. Is this easier from expert mode or the gui?

Sorry to be a pest. Appreciate the help.

I prefer the GUI. You should be able to make a copy of the one you use now and add those features - just to be sure you have everything you already have now. The AMO works too. You can REG-COSSU:COS,##; the one you are using now and just add the new features to the "A" list. This is V4 though - I didn't start driving the GUI till V5 so not sure if the process was still easy to use back then.

This is what mine looks like that has external CFW capability. Your mileage may vary.

Code:
ADD-COSSU:,21,,,,,,,,"DIGITAL / IP PHONES WITH FORWARD EXTERNAL";
CHA-COSSU:COS,21,TA&TNOTCR&CDRATN&CDRS&CDRSTN&CDRC&CDRINT&MB;
CHA-COSSU:COS,21,CFNR&FWDNWK&TTT&CFB&FWDBAS&FWDECA&FWDEXT&CCBS;
CHA-COSSU:COS,21,,NOCO&NOTIE;
CHA-COSSU:COS,21,,,NOCO&NOTIE;

Don, you are the man. I much appreciate it. I was able to regen the FWDEXT and add the additional COS parameters successfully.

Huge Huge thank you!

Don, I have another interesting conundrum. So we forward our operator console to an extension at night, they want to be able to take that forwarded number from the operator console and then still be able to forward it out to a local number. Any ideas on if this is even possible?

Nick

Try making the night dest an analog phone if not already, and then put it in a COS that has all 4 of the FWD* attributes (FWDBAS, FWDEXT, FWDNTW, etc) and TTT in it. Then do #91 on the analog phone and dial your number as usual to forward it to. You should get a triple beep as confirmation. When you need to unforward it use ##91. You will either be able to forward it or you won't. I have found that console forwarding can be pretty annoying! You don't *have* to use an analog phone, but I think you will be able to get away with more if you do. If you already have some other phone you can try the COS stuff, forward it and see if it works.

Thanks Don. I'll see if I can try some of these tips.

As Don says - add another Night Service Destination (NAVAR) and put in that analogue phone which is forwarded to the local number.

Nice to talk with you again sbcsu. Basically we have the operator console being transferred to our 3rd floor nurses station who wishes to have the discretion to transfer incoming phone calls to a physician, pharmacy ... etc after the operator is gone. Don's COS changes worked to be able to transfer out, but it does not like the double forward from the operator console to a optipoint 500 -> out of the building.

Night Station Forwarding

Calls that route to the Night Station thru the General Attendant Group will only follow Ring No Answer (CFNR) forwarding.
Any Unconditional Forwarding (CFU) is ignored for General Attendant calls.

There is a ZAND:ALLDATA2 parameter FASTCFNA.

CHANGE-ZAND:TYPE=ALLDATA2,FASTCFNA=YES;

If FASTCFNA = YES, then the No Answer timer is default 2 seconds, it follows the CTIME:CP1 Timer USERDG2.
If FASTCFNA = NO, then the No Answer times is CTIME:CP1 ANSADV, which is the standard system timer.

The ZAND:ALLDATA3 parameter RENSFWD controls where any subsequent forwarding uses FASTCFNA or normal ring time controlled by ANSADV.
If RENSFDW = YES, the FASTCFNA time only applies to the Night Station.

CHANGE-ZAND:TYPE=ALLDATA3,RENSFWD=YES;

For chained forwarding also have a look at DIS-ZAND:TYPE=DIST; to see which combinations are permitted.
