Has anyone ever heard of a PEN power toggling?
When I logged off a STNO, and tried logging on another, the 40T wouldn't accept the new number. Instead, it stayed at "device relocating". COMWIN shows the STNO assigned to the PEN.

I watched it for a bit, and saw it power off and back on it's own several times until it goes off completely and it goes into a DEF state.

I've CHA-BCSU signed it on and off with the same effect.

When I RES the PEN, or DEAC/ACT it, it just starts toggling again unit it drops off.

I've punched a new line and new phone right into the MDF with the same results.

I've even tried resetting the SLMO24 board with no luck.

Any ideas? Thanks!

regen-sbcsu on the station in expert mode, delete the station (I use assitstnt), go back to expert mode and paste the regen line into the command area to recreate the phone. You will probably have to go back into Assistant to check the "use keysystem" box on the Basic1 tab - I don't know of any other way to do that.

This just happened to the tech on my 4000 V5 when we were moving some stuff around to consolidate cabinets and it was just long enough that I can't remember how we fixed it. I'm pretty sure he deleted the station out and then put it back in. If it wasn't that it may have had something to do with signing off the station and then signing it back on, and when you sign it back on you have to tell it the same PEN number that it is currently on (write it down before you sign off, because it disappears after that). One of those two fixed the problem - maybe try the signoff thing first.

The other possibility is that when you logged it back on you entered a different PEN than the one it was on and now the system can't find the phone to sign it off the old port.

Sorry, guess I should have been clearer. When I logged off the phone, I was standing in front of it.

Though COMWIN shows the station assigned to the PEN, SIGNON and SIGNOFF had the same effect as trying to log in from the device.

I did try your regen-sbcsu idea, and it seems to have fixed it. I'll post again if it doesn't.

Thanks donb01!
