Hi everyone. Rather new to this forum and would like to tell you all that this is needed working with Siemens :D

My situation is I am administering 2 Hipath 4000 v3.0 PBX-a, and one of them is giving mi admin headaches.
I have noticed today that I cannot web assistant. That happen sometimes and then I reset the unix using init 0 or manual "push the buton" method. Bu now it doesn't react. I had this problem year ago and the problem was with the sim card, I pulled out the ADP and reinsterted the SIM and the card, my friend from Siemenes typed a few mmls and it was working.
But now when I pulled out the ADP and cleaned all the contacts the situation is the same.
The funny thing is when I connect to the Customer LAN port using I can se the login screen but it won't allow me to connect using my "u:engr, p:xxxxx" credentials so that I can do any further investigation. Maybe there is a password for this logon, so I have noticed the "healthy" other PBX is also asking me for other credentials when I wan't to connect to it usin Comwin expert access.

Any help would be appreciated, btw. I have seen some older posts and you are great.

If the IP address for Unixware is 192.1.2.5, then either your switch has performed an automatic Unixware re-install due to a major problem, or your tech never changed the IP address after Unixware was installed. It sounds as if the automatic re-installation occurred, since you say the old password no longer works. Sorry, but I cannot provide the default password on this forum.
If you made a mistake while typing, and you actually meant to say "192.0.2.5", then that is a different story. That is the IP address assigned to Unixware via the Atlantic LAN, and no automatic re-install has occurred.
Perhaps someone else can provide the default password.
Note: Unixware should not be stopped by pushing the reset button on the ADP. Unixware needs an orderly shutdown, or it can become corrupted, which will warrant a re-installation from RMX Scratchpad. You should always shutdown via command (init 6 ot init 0) or use Assistant > Base Admin > Unix Base Admin > Shut Down. On newer 4K systems, Unixware can be shutdown via AMO DSSM, but not sure about V3.
Good Luck

Forgive me if you already know all this, but....

My first step would be to evaluate the PC you are using to try to use web access. I am using the latest version of the switch, and I will bet it took me well over an hour to load all the crap that is required of web management. You had to have just the right version of Java, certificates, add on components and all kinds of other junk. If you downloaded a Java update you might have messed yourself up, or one of the other component requirements could have been upgraded on the fly - things like that.

The address you listed your your customer LAN port is pretty strange... Is the whole network in your organization really using 192.1.2.X for IP addresses?? Ours are all 10.1.x, 10.2.x, etc... Normally if you are using a 192 network it would be 192.168.x.xxx type of addresses. Like the other guy said, if you are referring to the Atlantic LAN that must be a typo, and if you connect to that LAN it is my understanding that you have the plug the cable into the exact specific port that is for that purpose. We have ours hooked up to a 5-port switch so I don't have to think about it.

How do you know the process for the Administration service is not running? Are you logging in through expert mode to somehow see it isn't running?

Just to clarify my previous post: 192.1.2.5 is the default IP address assigned to Unixware after a successful installation on any version of HiPath 4000. This address is typically changed to an IP address within the customer's net scheme during the system installation. So if you can use this IP address, then either it was never changed during the system installation, OR Unixware has been recently re-installed.

Thanks for the fast response. My address scheme is 10.1.xxx.xxx
My tech did not change the address for the adp customer and atlantic ports, I can access via web connecting to atlantic port using 192.0.2.5 and via customer port on 192.1.2.5 but cannot access via my old password.
I was accessing the web via 192.168.1.xxx because this is another vlan dedicated for administration. Other Hipath is on 192.168.2.xxx and is working fine with this computer and with other. Do not think that is the computer and java issue.
Many times I have reseted the unix via init 0 commands but only when I could not access the unix via telnet I had to use the reset button. My question is probably my tech has setup-ed the ip address of the switch to comply with my admin vlan which is on 192.168.2.xxx because 10.1.xxx.xxx is my data vlan.
For a long time I had a red alarm we could not figure what this is and did not bother.

What are my actions. I would try to get the default password, and if I get what to do next. No very familiar with the MML but have all the service documentation and willing to learn.

Thanks in advance.
What are my other actions
