Hipath 4000 manual backup

We have a Hipath 4000 and we want to do a manual backup, should we do a Start Backup or Save command? We tried to do a START BACKUP command, but how do we know is the filename of the save file and the other things its asking for?

If this is a US based system you should be using the Assistant GUI tool to perform the backups, it's fairly easy to use and offers a number of backup choices. If you are using an International version of Hipath4K then I'm not sure what you would use as Siemens is notorious for deploying different platforms in various parts of the world.

What is the software version of the 4K ?

What are you trying to backup ? Just the 4K RMX database, not the Unix ? So you just want to copy a bootable image to MO/CF ?

If that's the the case, use the DDRSM amo.

You only need area E for the bootable disk that contains the telephony db. Area F just has the regens on it.
