Hello,

we use Hipath 4000 Assistant v3.0, we connect with Firefox/IE and Java Version 1.4.2_06. Last week a Java-Update changed our Version, so I get now a "Message ID 108" - Error. I read the thread by synergy08, 5 May 08 and the 9 step solution by rick2u, but i have some questions about the client preparation steps 1-6.

Can someone help me please to setup the client again?

I tried the 9 step solution but nothing change. I still get this Error "Message Id 108", what I'm doing wrong?

thanks.

I just read those 9 steps and they're fine. If you followed them through exactly you shouldn't have a problem. Java issues on the 4000 are not unusual but if you completely uninstall it and reinstall as per the client prep, it works.

Did you do something wrong in steps 1-6 ? You want the green tick before you proceed to the next step.

hello, first thank you for answering.

That's what i'm doing:

First i unistalled all java apps, i deleted all the folders. shutdown and start - like described.

I installed the java version 1.4.2_06, and the siemens certificate (HiPath 4000 SW Production TEam(Siemens I&C Security CA)). shutdown and start. I configured java in the controlpanel: no update, jre->1.4.2_06. shutdown and start.

Login to the Assistant works fine, but starting i.e. the Java applet stops with Message Id 108

***
Java Console Error:

FATAL ERROR: CodedValue-File did NOT exist
***

Please explain to me Step 5: Perform the client preparation steps 1-6. perhaps i misunderstand something

Do you go through all the steps of the client prep, last one is install the applet cache ?

I think this is the problem .. i dont know these client preparations steps (1-6) .. where i can find them?

I thought first that is the java-setup and the java config tool in the control panel.

Instructions:
1. On the PC, go to Add/Remove Programs and remove all installed Java, Applications & all Java Runtime Environment apps
2. On the PC, use Windows Explorer to make sure the following folders are deleted:
C:\Appletcache,
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.HiPath4000
C:\Program Files\Java
C:\Program Files\JavaSoft
3. Perform a Shut down of the PC, not a restart.
4. Start up the PC
5. Perform the Client preparation steps 1-6. <----------???
6. Perform a Shut down of the PC, not a restart.
7. Start up the PC
8. Go back to Client preparation and confirm the check marks for each of the steps. <----------???
9. Do not perform the Java updates if you receive the update Java prompt.

Sorry for asking these stupid questions, my english is not the best and i dont understand what i have to do in these steps?.

Instead of HTTPS to get you straight to the login screen, go to HTTP and from there you can find client preparation.

Yes! It works. Thank you very very much!!
I wish you all the very best! :)))
