Could anyone give some steps on creating and page group in a Hipath 3500. And can i make the page grp. number a dialable ext. from my cor-netted Mod 80 ?
I don't know the 3500, but I can answer the cornet question. I have a main site with 7 satellite sites set up hub and spoke and I can page from the main site to all remote sites that have paging.
I'm using 9006 speak here from your Mod 80, but the concept is the same.
The page group you create on the 3500 has some dialable digits to access the group.
On the 80 you will create an outdial rule (LODR) something like:
DTMF
OUTPULSE <3500's dialable digits here>
END
Then you will create a route to the 3500 (LROUT)
This will give the trunk group of CorNet to 3500, and the ODR number you set up, the authorization level needed to access the route, and that it is for voice (among other things).
Finally you will create a dial plan entry (LDPLN)
This will give the digits to dial on the 80 to access paging on the 3500, and specify the number of the route you set up for this purpose.
This is the way I have it set up. Please note that in my configuration the code that I dial on the 80 is not the same as the codes that are dialed at the remote site. It was 13 years ago when this was set up and I don't remember if this HAD to go through this trunking process to work, or if we only did it because I dial "81" at my main site but it gets sent to the remote site as "77".
I don't think it is possible to just create a digit string like an extension in DPLN and just set the route to your CorNet trunk to the 3500 because the DAR of that digit string will be STN, and when it goes across CorNet it will probably be expecting a station with that number on the other side and will error out when it doesn't find one...
Anyway, this is how my 80 is set up. I haven't messed with the 3500, but I do have a Hicom 150H that I program with Assistant E and it's pretty easy to set up a paging trunk and assign a digit string to that use.
