Can anyone tell us the required settings or able to check their Hipath 3000 Manager settings: Options/Program Options/Communication Settings menu for the following:

What option should be selected under Modem Settings/Modem Type. We are using an external us robotics 5686 .v92 modem to dial out to the switch from a PC. The only US Robotics option n the list is a US Robotics Sportster flash.

What are the values for "Init":
My default values on the default modem type "CPV" were: "AT&FL1X3V1S7=100\Q3\V1\X1\N6"

Any info would be appreciated.

If you are using this setup to do your 3000 then why don't you use the same one for your 150??

I don't think it matters a whole hill of beans as long as you get your COM port and baud rate and protocol correct. I think I left it at the default or I put in an ATZ.

Hey Don, thanks we have two technicians logging in from different locations. One is on site, and the other is off site with no land line, just internet access.
However the Hicom 150 only has dial up access, no LAN nor ISDN access.
I was trying to log into the PBX without a landline, so the only thing I can think of would be to somehow tether a mobile phone to the PC, and have it dial into the PBX, not sure if that will work with a mobile phone like that.

Normally when you tether a modem driver is installed on the PC for the phone you just attached. Unless they made changes to Assistant I believe it used to be limited to COM1 - COM4, so make sure that Modem gets set up for whichever of those ports is available. Then go into communications on Assistant and choose that COM port. Start by not putting in any initialization code besides ATZ, and enter the phone number you want to dial. I would not set the comm speed higher than 9600 (or whatever the other guy is using). Hit connect and with any luck it will dial out and connect.
