Hi All,

I have a Hipath 3000 and use Manager-E software to administer.

The system time is off by about 5 minutes, does any one know how to change this?

Thanks,

---Mike

I don't do HiPath 3000 questions, but this one reminds me of a funny story.
When I was a teenager, I worked the night shift at a national hotel chain on the weekends. One fall Saturday evening the time change was scheduled (fall BACK one hour). I figured out how to change the time on the time-clock so that Sunday morning the time would be correct for all the workers as they "punched in". Later that day, hotel management requested that I come to the office ASAP. I arrived to find three overly-nervous managers glaring at me. I was clueless. They accused me of tampering with the time-clock, explaining that it was a secure machine, only to be accessed by authorized personnel. They were salivating like mad dogs ready to attack my character for "hacking" into this machine. When I responded, "I unplugged it for exactly one hour", they looked at each other - speechless, then burst out laughing. One manager proclaimed that my action saved them the $50 fee to have the Simplex time-clock technician reset the time. They sent me home with a big "Thanks!"
Obviously that was pre-PC era, and pre-battery backup era. But the point is: there's always a way!!!!!!!!! Good luck!

If my old memories do not fail me, the only way to change the time is through a phone. If you have a memory phone (big screen) at one of your station locations you should be able to use that. You can also try it on a regular display phone but I'm not sure if it will work.

Dial *95 then 31994 then 31994 again and that should bring you the main menu. Go through the sub-menus until you find the date/time one and press select to change, and change the date/time as needed. I don't remember, but if there is any kind of OK or Save on the time change screen do so before you exit the screen. You should then be able to pick up the phone and hang up to exit back out.

The best way is to connect the system to ISDN and then make a call, the date and time should update if the carrier provides that feature.

login thru the first digital phone created with the password i see was sent in a prior string and go to DISPLAYS

If done from the phone it has do be done on a certain port, I think the very first SLMO port. I do it remotely through Manager E using the Online mode. Use the same commands like you were setting the system time from a phone.

Oh yeah - I forgot about the online mode... It's been a while!)
