I've bought a Hipath 1220 to experiment (others say play) with, the first hurdle is to reset the system to it's default.
I do not have the administrator password, and the default password (31994) has been changed.

Is there a hardware reset button or another way to set the system to defaults?

The manual is at

ftp://ftp.lantel.nl/Siemens/Manager/1220%20v2.0/manual/en/hp1/man/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm?href=7_Other4.html

It states there that you need the HiPath 1200 manager to be able to reset it but by default it is 0000

Basic Programming Password
The default password (basic programming password) for the initial logon to HiPath 1200 Manager is "0000.

I can't imagine that there isn't a way to reset the switch if you've forgotten your password....

Siemens can't be that ....

I don't know this system, but on the Hicom 150 there is a blue flat-blade spring-loaded switch on the processor board that you flip to get the system to reboot (reset). In the case of that system, if you accidentally (or intentionally) hold that switch down for 2 seconds instead of just flipping it the system will wipe the database back to default (which includes the system language being changed to German).

Also on the Hicom 150 there were a series of codes you could enter into the phone on the first port of the first line card to change the language back to English. I have that written down somewhere but I don't know if it is even close or not.

The only reason I brought up the 150 process is because of the reference to 31994.
