People have covered things more and better than I will, but I thought I'd put in my observations on replacing the piece:
1) a couple places I contacted claimed you couldn't purchase the CLUTCH: SECOND TRANSFER ROLLER by itself. You can. Contact the seller that everyone else has been using.
2) I think it's easier to pull the entire transfer kit out. There are 2 screws in the track the block the transfer kit from coming off the track. Remove those (the 1st time it will be very tight), and it slides out easily.
3) The transfer roller has a resevoir where it stores toner that comes off the page. Remove the roller right away and store it someplace where a mess won't ruin a carpet. I promise you, if you get it on carpet or fabric, the chances of you removing it are slim to none. I have personal experience with this <G>.
3) Other people shows the endcap of the transfer kit coming off with a single screw. God bless you, but I couldn't figure out how to do that.
Instead, I removed the screw and it allowed the end of the circuit board to be moved out of the way enough to allow you to remove the clutch. You might have to play with the position of the clutch by rotating it to get clearance.
4) If you want to clean the clutch, just be aware that the spring goes just one way and it isn't obvious. Watch what you're doing and take pictures if you think it will help.
Also, you won't clean the spring with a simple wipe. The grease is really on there and it probably requires a good soaking to remove. I'm not patient enough for that.
5) Its really a fast fix if you have a known good part. I personally recommend buying a new clutch and keeping it for a rainy day. It will probably break when you least need it to, and its cheap insurance to keep one, the same way you probably keep a few spare toner cartridges.
