I was setting up a 200mhz pentium system for a friend, but the thing kept either locking up, displaying fatal errors...or suddenly rebooting. On one reboot...himem.sys said it found an xms memory error. I'm assuming this must mean a bad memory stick. I have 2 simms sticks of 16megs each. Is that necessarily the problem, or am I on the wrong track? I don't have any sticks to put in the machine to test my theory.

Believe you have bad memory. Himem does a better test than post (none) but it isn't infallable. But when it fails, if fails the other way. (saying no problem when there really is one)
