You misunderstand how this works. There isn't old data, it all gets refreshed.
You could export the report to a data source, and then run a difference query, mark the rows appropriately and then requery.
You also might create an MS Access database to query your datasource each time, then use queries to show differences, and then use Access as the datasource.
You might also be able to use a subreport, but if this is a requirement, add timestamps to the data, databases designed without them are often born of bad design or laziness
