Highlighting Bookmarks

I'm not a web person, so forgive the simplicity of this question. I have a html document that I created in word. I've created hyperlinks and bookmarks and that part works fine, but I'd like the associated bookmark to be highlighted. Can I do that easily?

Let me clarify. I'd like the associated bookmark to highlight only when the associated hyperlink is clicked.

There is an associated :target pseudo class in CSS3, but I don't know if any browser outside Geckos supports that. Other than that, I think you would need to use a javascript solution for the anchors to highlight.

thanks. I copied some code from a web page that did what I wanted. I don't know what any of it means, but it works so I'm happy.
