I have a list of names that I would like to have the background changed when one of these names is in the value.
I went to the format background screen and selected the formula but wasn't sure which IF-THEN would work or how to best utilize one of these for this application.

Thank you

What version of Crystal?

I am not sure how far back this answer will apply (at least to v8) but typically you would format the field, and click the X-2 button next to the background color dialog box, and enter a formula:

If <<condition>> then yellow else defaultattribute

Software Sales, Training, Implementation and Support for Macola, eSynergy, and Crystal Reports

Thanks Dave for the help but I have one more question to this.
I need to check at least two names and the IN ("x", "y") syntax did not work. It appears I need to write a name for each line. I have tried but have not found a way to do this.

the syntax is:

in ["X","Y"]
