High Res Scan Mark

I have no good idea as to where to post this, but this area looked pretty good. I want to ask if anyone here knows how to put a transparent mark on a high res scan. Maybe you have seen some of the scans i am talking about. They are usually very high quality and in one of the corners there will be a mark or icon type thing. It is transparent and identifies who made the scan. Is there a program or software to do this. I have worked with Paint Shop Pro for many hours and have not been able to duplicate this.

Anyone know how this is done?????
