High Processor utilisation

Using a dual processor 1Ghz Xeon with 3Gb RAM. SQL2000 + SP3
We have service msmdsrv.exe maxing out both processors on utilisation when only opening templates that interogate the cube. After closing the app the processor remain maxed out for about 5mins.

What should I look for to remedy this
