We have been using NT 4 with Cold Fusion, IIS and standard Microsoft ODBC drivers to produce and host database driven Web sites. While this is ok for smaller sites, there are some larger sites, applications and e-commerce business which requires us to take the next step up. <br>

Any recommendations, experience, review or resources (e.g. Domino/Notes, Oracle,...) suggestions would be appreciated.

If you are thinking of going to Oracle, but still using IIS as your web service, and ODBC to connect, you may need to experiment a bit with the ODBC drivers. Some of the MS ODBC drivers for Oracle either don't handle transactions correctly (e.g. causing server hangups on simultaneous transations), or do not parse valid Oracle SQL syntax correctly (e.g. not understanding table aliases). Using the Oracle supplied driver usually works instead though, so this isn't a point against, just something to bear in mind if you pick that as a solution.<br>
