High CPU Utilization

HI,

In my AIX machine cpu is 100% utilized. System is taking 70 to 80% and User is taking 20 to 30%. wait and idle time 0%. When ran vmstat runqueue is showing 15and above. It is a 2 processor machine. can you help in this...

Check the process that consumes the CPU and identify what the users are doing!

already ran ps aux...

only 3 processes are using greater than 1%. 2 wait processes consuming 6% each and one db2agent taking 1.1%. remianing are less than 1%

Run vmstat 2 and look at the wait queue

Then it seems that your server is overloaded!

Time to think of CPU upgrade!!!
