Hi,
I have an Exchange 2003 server (SP2) running on Windows Server 2003 (SP2). All patches applied to the server and Exchange.
About a week ago, the inetinfo.exe process started running at 99%. This kills off the server performance. I have checked the process and it's running for the RESvc, SMTPsvc and IISADMIN.
Stopping RESvc and SMTPsvc makes no difference. It is not possilbe to stop IISADMIN as net stop iisadmin just puts 100 or so .s on the screen.
Eventvwr shows no error messages.
Killing inetinfo.exe as a process just leads to it doing a respawn and running (almost immediately) up to 99%.
Most of the technotes I have read talk about pre SP1 Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2000. I have tried re-applying SP2 to Exchange which made no difference.
There are no additional web sites running on the server, other than the ones for Exchange.
I have deleted all messages from the SMTP queue, which made no difference either (there were only 3).
Anti virus wise, the server is running Symantec 10.2. I have removed this and reinstalled it which makes no difference (it was still at 99% after the AV was uninstalled).
Any ideas would be most welcome, as I'm rather stumped to be honest!
Thanks in advance,
Magz.
