High-Availability DFS

So, I want to make sure that I set this up properly the first time.

We have a large iSCSI SAN that hosts our files and user profiles.

We have a 2008 server that has DFS namespaces pointing to the SCSI luns... \\mycompany.pri\users \\mycompany.pri\profiles and so forth.

We are wanting high availability, so we will be building a pair of 2016 servers.

I don't need replication; nor do I want it.

I don't necessarily need an entire HA server pair; just "If server1 isn't answering, use server2" sort of thing, so that I can have high availability to the domain name DFS shares.

I *think* all I have to do is build the two servers with the file server role, set up my DFS shares on the first one, then right-click the root and add the other server? Would I also need to have two DNS for mycompany.pri pointing to both of the servers?

I've found lots of stuff about HA server failover, and DFS replication, but not much about this scenario, where I just need the DFS Root namespace to be redundant across two servers.

Are both servers using the SAN for storage?

Something like Clustered Storage Spaces?
