HIF File?

I have a user that is trying to Plot (aka print) from AutoCAD to a Laserjet 1022n. In order for him to set up the printer in AutoCAD as a plotter, he needs a HIF file (Heidi Information File).

I downloaded the latest drivers, but can seem to connect them to AutoCAD.

So my question is: Does HP make a HIF file for the Laserjet 1022N?

I am kinda sorry to inform you, but since the LJ 1022 is entirely hostbased with very limited PCL capability there is basically no chance that this printer will ever understand a stream of data from your CAD application. Much of such data usually contains HP/GL2 that is native built into PCL 5 or PCL 6 emulation, but since this printer does not have any of these it will not work. Therefore also I am quite sure that HP does not make any HIF file for this printer.

Thanks guys! Yup, the people had an HP 5L before, but somehow it fell apart.

For now I told them to get around it by printing to PDF and then print to their local printer.
