Has anybody tried implementing the Employee-Manager relation in Oracle (loop-back relation) as Levels in PowerPlay Transformer...?

I mean having a dimension like:
Org Chart
---------
Manager
Employee

But, try to get the output similar to the output of hierarchical query in Oracle....?

Thanks,

If you're using IQD files to create your cube, this should be no problem. You just need to have your Employee table in your catalog, then alias your Employee table as Manager table. Now join the two and you can report Manager and Employee in the same report.

Hi,

But how will the dimension be modeled...?

If there is an employee, who is a Manager as well as a subordinate to another manager, can we in PowerPlay be able to show the details in tree-view (as in Windows Explorer view)...?

Thanks,

It should be structured just like an Org Chart.

IE.
President
Vice Presidents
Directors
Managers
Employees

You just need to define what your levels are. If you don't have a true tree shaped org structure then a single Powerplay dimension will not work well.
