Do i need to have Hidserv running in my background? I had a USB keyboard but i replaced it so now i have no devices using a USB connection.

If it is safe to end Hidserv, where is it starting up from. Is it in regedit?

No, is the simple answer.When you hit Ctrl+Alt,Del, the only program you should see is explorer.Go to Start,Run,type in 'msconfig',click on the 'startup' tab and untick everything except'Taskmonitor' and 'Scanregistry' as these have their uses. Hope this helps. ANDY.

You'll also see systray when you do the 3-finger-salute. Anything else is a running application.
