I am using Win 2000 on a stand alone Dell desktop machine.

Every time I boot the machine I get the following error message immediately I move the cursor.

"hidserv.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You need to restart the program.

An error log is being created."

Can anyone help me with the problem and also where will I find the log file, have done a search for latest files but none appear to be related to hiserv.exe.

My machine continues to operate without any problem.

Thanks

Well first off heres a link describing what that file does.

Second off put your system disc in , close anything it loads, go to command prompt and type sfc/scannow. Restart when done. If it still does it continue onto the next step.

Next step, empty all temp folders and then go to this site and run a full system scan.

Let us know the results when done following these.
