Hi,

Does anyone know how to hide a toolbar on an Access form so it's not displayed?

Thanks,
TM

Watermelon:

Under Tools on the menu bar you'll find StartUp. Click on that and then in the dialog box, uncheck Allow Builtin Toolbars.

You'll need to close and reopen the db to have it take effect.

Note: If you need them back to do additional design work, simply hold down the shift key as you start the application and the full tools bars will be back for you to use.

Hope this helps.

Hi Larry,

Thanks. That did work but I also need to get rid of the menu headings at the top, like "File," "Edit," "Insert" and "Records." I should have explained this before. Do you know if there's anyway to do this?

Thanks again,
TM

Watermelon:

You can suppress the regular menu bar in the same place. Check off Allow Full Menus. You can also check off Display Database Window to prevent the user from getting into the tables, etc.

If you really want to lock it down, you should also split the db into a front end (forms, queries, etc) and back end (tables) and create a custom menu bar using only the menu options you want the user to have (Exit, Print, etc).
