hiding panels

Hello. I have long web page with 2 dropdown boxes on a web page. When someone selects another value from the list, it posts the form back to the webserver, then I have code to hide or show other panels. When the browser returns the form to the server, it returns the browser to the top of the page. Is is possible to show the dropdown box that the user selected at the top of the page?
