I am looking for help with NNM. I attended an OPenview traing course but this didn't do much with NNM.

Currently I have ownership of our Core network map which shows me all our switches and then each customers circuit that hangs of that switch.

I have 'Internet' on the root map, when I goto in this I have a screnn with 100's of objects on. It is showing me the switches but it is also showing me in a pretty diagrams all the customers. When I go into a Switch submap the customers circuits are in there aswell. This is what I want. I want to remove the customers circuits from the Internet map but still keep them in the respective Switch Submap. I have had a little play with hiding/deleteing objects but this is not getting the desired effect. When removed (Even from 'this submap only') it removes from all submaps and then appears in the bottom row (New Objects). 'Hiding' seems to hide from all submaps, plus I may only want a few objects on my Internet submap varuiably 'hidden', not all customers circuits.

Simply all I want is my 'Internet' map with my [approx] 20 switches on, all with thresholds set to change colour on my definition, and then when I double click on the swtich takes me to a map with all the customers on that swtich displayed.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If it's logical, it'll work!

Hi there Trancemission, it sounds to me like you should create a few containers or location objects to clean up your Internet and Core Network map.

Please don´t get used to play with hiding/deleting since it is not healthy for NNM at all...but regarding hiding you can hide objects and choose to hide from all the submaps or just the submap you are working on, this could help you too.

Hope this answers your questions, please let me know if there is anything else you would like to correct, ok?
