I'm creating a billboard design in Illustrator. I have objects in the design that extend outside of the document's actual size. How can I make it so that anything that extends outside of the document size is not shown?

Thanks!

Sounds like you need a clipping mask. Draw a box the size of your document and make sure that it is the foremost object. Then select your box and any items that need to be clipped and select Object > Clipping Mask > Make.

When you go to print, though, the clipping mask will be disregarded as a boundary, you'll need to create a crop area. To make a crop area that covers the art board size, deselect everything and go to Object>Crop Area>Make, it will lay down crops on the artboard boundary. This is in CS, in ai10 the crop marks were called crop marks as opposed to crop area. In CS, don't use the Crop Marks in the filter menu, they are really tripm parks and don't get listened to.
