Hello,

I'm pretty new to indesign. I'm having a hard time finding where to hide a specific master object on one of my main pages. Basically, I have my website name (from the master) at the bottom of all my pages but I would like to hide the site name on some pages? Is there an easy way to do that?

Thanks!

...a couple of possibilities are to select the pages you wish to change by command clicking and select 'override all master page items' from the flyout menu, or by right clicking one of your selected pages, then remove the text...

...another might be to create another master page, select the pages by command clicking them, do a right click or by the flyout menu and select 'apply master to pages', choose the new master page from the dropdown menu...

...just to add...

...you could also type in the page numbers if you wish in the 'apply master to pages' dialogue, separate by a comma or for continuous pages by a hyphen (1-8), of course, make sure the new master you apply is artworked as before just eliminating the web address you mentioned...

I tried the "override master items" in the flyout menu but it didnt make the master items dissapear on the selected page. Perhaps it just keeps them from printing?

...'override master page items' allows you to select objects, breaking the link to the master page...

...it then requires you to change the pages manually...

...quicker to use the other method of creating another master page in any case...

andrew

...to create non-printing items requires the use of the attributes palette...
