Hiding IP Address

There are many Hide IP address products available on the web, each claiming to offer top protection. Can I get a few recommendations, from experience, of which are truly good, including preventing the email address being discerned to prevent spam mail after visiting sites?

And is there any benefit in using hide IP address software when using a dial-up line exclusively?
